I was at Zeri’s about a week ago, and I still catch myself thinking about that dinner. It was one of those evenings where everything just felt right. The service was warm, the kind that makes you feel genuinely looked after. And the food… honestly, it was on another level. Every dish tasted incredibly fresh, like the ingredients had just come straight from the sea. It’s rare that a restaurant leaves such a strong impression, but Zeri’s really did. I’m already looking forward to going back.
Zeri’s Restaurant is beautifully located, offering a great view and a pleasant atmosphere. The food is delicious and nicely presented — clearly made with care. The staff were polite and efficient, contributing to an overall enjoyable dining experience. The only small downside was the side dishes, which didn’t quite match the quality and flavor of the main courses. Still, a solid 5-star experience and definitely worth visiting while in Malta.
I’m really disappointed with my experience at Zeri’s. First, our order was taken incorrectly, which already set a bad tone for the meal. But what made things worse was the service afterward. We ordered dessert for two people, yet only one spoon was provided. We tried to get the staff’s attention multiple times to ask for another spoon, but no one responded for quite a while. It was frustrating and honestly unacceptable. Overall, the service was inattentive and poorly managed. Definitely not the experience we expected.
The restaurant is located at Portomaso bay/marina, which is lovely and beautiful bay area with a view on yachts. The restaurant has decent selection of fresh fish, and also different meat dishes. I recommend to try salmon cheesecake with pistachio crumble - the cream cheese layer is thin and overall taste blends nicely with all the ingredients. Something I hadn't eaten before. We also ate a plate of three fishes of the day, which would be suitable to share even with three people, if you also have starter beforehand. They have selection of local Maltese wines which I enjoyed as a tourist in the region. But, also Italian wines, if you prefer that. French fries with chicken nuggets for kids weren't the best, though. Seemed like the nuggets were the frozen ones you can buy from a store. The pasta was cooked well.
I was expecting way more after reading the reviews. I know its a « fine dining » experience but 34€ for 3 small prawns and rice… its a little bit a rip off. The chicken breast was very bland without any species and extremely dry, impossible to cut, it was like the chicken you get in a place not at all in a fancy restaurant. Other than that the soup was nice, nothing crazy.
